COMMUnity building

My journey towards communitarianism began during my childhood when I joined football teams and student unions. This passion led me to study social sciences at the university, where I gained a deeper understanding of sociology, anthropology, politics, and solidarity economy. I played a pivotal role in establishing the first consumption center at the University of São Paulo, and a consumption network that connected over 500 consumers with 50 ecological producers in the city. As the founder of Ahimsa Caravan, I traveled over 100,000 km across South America, promoting a culture of peace and sustainability. Additionally, I served as an advisor in the formation of cooperatives in Brazil and Venezuela and co-designed and participated in almost all editions of peace villages in global social forums. I also founded the Sacred Alliance of Medicine and Culture and established the A Las Raíces Ecopedagogical Center.
Throughout my journey, I have participated in several meetings and vision councils in South America and have taken various courses on consensus, Dragon Dreaming, Theory U, Sociocracy, Mediation, and Conflict Resolution. As a member of the Cerrado Bioregional Institute since 2012, I have gained extensive practical experience with community life and associations.
Since 2019, I have been a Spiral Ie initiate, immersing myself in the indigenous vision of the Colombian Sierra Nevada on how to form and maintain communities. Through this experience, I gained insight into why some of the associational projects I participated in failed. I am currently sharing this knowledge with others, helping them find greater harmony in their relationships and families, and advancing on the path of association. I am forever grateful to my teacher Jate Kulvhavita, with whom I continue to study and carry out activities that allow others to access the wisdom of those lands.

"The Future is Ancestral" - Ailton Krenak

Ailton Krenak argues that the most pressing activities for our time are planting trees, establishing trust and cooperation, and creating intentional communities and tribes. Planetary balance is achieved through the cooperation of all living beings, generating an intelligent and interconnected system. This balance extends beyond our planet, shaping the solar system and the universe, and supporting life.

Currently, humanity's way of life is disconnected from the needs of the earth and other living beings. An ego-based system of thought dominates minds and social, economic, and political systems, resulting in suffering and imbalance across various levels. The systemic crisis we are witnessing is due, in large part, to individualism, manifesting as disconnection from oneself, others, society, and nature.

Moreover, this system and behavior contribute significantly to the rapid and drastic changes in the climate and the availability of vital resources on Earth. Wars, disputes, confusion, depression, hopelessness, climate change, droughts, floods, death, destruction, pain, hunger, deforestation, pollution, corruption, political credibility failure, economic crises, and other challenges require thoughts, attitudes, and projects that offer alternatives and effective solutions.

We aim to showcase regenerative and cooperative initiatives while providing practical tools for individuals seeking to engage in this movement.

The Kogui people have identified four critical paths that guide their way of life on Earth:

1.The bean path - an individual journey of self-discovery, self-improvement, and self-knowledge, where one remembers the law of origin and explores different dimensions of human life and consciousness.

2.The corn path - a path that one walks with their direct family, including ancestors, parents, children, and partners, which also encompasses sexuality.

3.The path of the gourd - a path that is walked with the community, tribe, and collective where decision-making, knowledge transmission, and sustenance generation are explored in a balanced and harmonious manner with the surrounding territory.

4.The path of the pumpkin - a path that is walked with humanity as a whole. It involves the generation of knowledge and actions that improve living conditions for all and promote the appropriate cultivation of the seed of human consciousness, ultimately contributing to the regeneration of the planet.

In line with these values, we are developing a series of activities and content that will be released shortly, providing opportunities to learn and engage in concrete actions that strengthen sustainability bonds in favor of good living and planetary regeneration.
